According to several industry insiders, with the continuous intensification of tight gas exploration development, the water discharged during the development process has risen sharply, the traditional treatment disposal methods can no longer meet the development needs. However, due to the chemical characteristics of high chlorine high salt in the drainage water produced by the development of tight gas, it is difficult to deal with high cost, which has become the main factor restricting the increase of tight gas storage production in Shanxi Province. The "water problem" restricts development

A number of industry insiders suggest that environmental risks of the project should be effectively controlled during the reinjection process. Data show that only about 9% of the oil gas industry's development projects involve drainage water reinjection projects.


Fan Zhenzhen, a senior engineer at the Environmental Engineering Assessment Center of the Ministry of Ecology Environment, said that the current EIA work in the oil gas industry has problems such as small investment short cycle in the management of a single well, but large amount of review, large amount of management low efficiency. In addition, exploration development only pay attention to the ground work such as well site, systematic research is enough, the impact analysis on the ecological environment groundwater environment of the whole region is weak. In order to promote the coordination between oil gas development ecological environment protection, to realize the green development of the industry, it is urgent to introduce EIA management policies covering both conventional unconventional oil gas.


It is worth noting that the reinjection of drainage mining water in Shanxi Province is still in its initial stage, with weak basic research in relevant fields, lack of standards regulations, absence of policies measures. Technical supervision policies regulations at the national level are in urgent need of strengthening.


Experts at the meeting said that relevant studies should be carried out based on foreign experience comprehensive evaluation of environmental effects, the contents of layer selection well selection, wellbore safety, reinjection parameters, monitoring management abandonment plan should be standardized in the process of oil gas exploitation, the technical requirements of wellbore integrity wellbore structure should be clarified, so as to provide a basis for relevant legislation.
